Ovlov update and others

It's alive! Alive! Well, the starter was replaced anyway, so the Volvo starts now, which is a good thing. :)

I'm considering cutting my hair shorter. Presently, it's more than half-way down my back. I'm considering cutting it to just an inch or two below my shoulders. Thoughts, suggestions?

After retrieving the Volvo, Tibs and I went to the mall for a bit. We met an interesting fellow over by the anime DVDs section at Best Buy. He was obviously t3h g4y. Met him again while Tibs was testing scents at The Body Shop; guess he works there -- definitely t3h g4y. We're thinking of popping in later and saying hi, as he seemed like a relatively nice guy. Maybe we can get Eddie and Keikan over sometime, have an anime fest or something.

I bought some new slipper-shoes, which is basically all I wear these days, since I'm too lazy to do laces. :D I do have a solid pair of hiking boots, but I usually only wear them when I'm planning on hiking a ways. I wanted to wear the latter today, but mysterious blisters at my achilles' tendon made such very uncomfortable.

I also got some more DVDs. I'm a fan of classic movie monsters, so I picked up Mary Shelly's Frankenstein. I'm not sure why it didn't do as well as Bram Stoker's Dracula. A shame really, since the former is perhaps the most true incarnation of Ms. Shelly's work in film I've seen. I'm really sick of everyone thinking Frankenstein's creation was a mentally-incapacitated good guy. Read the novel, you idjits! :D He was very intelligent, and also very vengeful, if not evil.

I picked up Big O season 2, also. What can I say, I like the art style. If you haven't seen it, imagine Batman: The Animated Series... with giant robots. Yeah, it's very film-noir-esque. I enjoy it, even if the theme song was stolen from Queen. ;) Speaking of Batman: TAS, I found volume 2 today. I didn't even know volume 1 was released! I'm considering picking them up at some point. The series was dark and dreary, and focused a lot on characterization, which is lacking in many movies and animated series these days.

Just for fun, here's a listing of animated (non-anime) series I'm presently collecting:
  • Family Guy - Volumes 1 and 2 so far. Freakin' Sweeet. I can't wait for the new episodes to come out this May.
  • Futurama - Go Matt Groening! Volumes 1 through 4 so far. I'd consider collecting Simpsons, except there's sixteen seasons so far!
  • Invader Zim - Gir is the man.. er.. dog.. er.. robot! :) Volumes 1 through 3 are in my possession. Collection complete!
  • Redwall - A decent adaptation of Brian Jacques' novels, which always endeared me as a child. Volumes 1 and 2 so far.
Anything else you think I should be collecting? :)
